English Thyme has several other names including common, garden german or winter thyme. English Thyme has a minty, clove, peppery flavor that slightly sweeter and less subtle than French Thyme. unless your recipe is distinctly French it is probably looking for English Thyme. English Thyme is good for seasoning meats, fish and poultry but also adds flavour soups and vegetables. The difference between English and French Thyme is so subtle that we at Chickadee Farm take extra steps to label the Thyme even the rows in the garden.
